July 6th, 2019 concluded the largest LAFD CERT Community Fire Patrol in the history of the Los Angeles Fire Department CERT Program. LAFD CERT Call Out Team Members from across Los Angeles teamed up to actively patrol areas of the City prone to increased Wild Fire Potential. Additionally, CERT Teams were directly connected to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Dispatch Center (Metropolitan Fire Communications Center) resulting in Teams being dispatched to active incidents to provide Firefighter Rehab and Hydration.
These dedicated members of the Los Angeles Fire Department CERT Program volunteered over 200 hours of their time during this 4 Day Deployment in LAFD West Bureau, LAFD Valley Bureau, LAFD Central Bureau, and LAFD South Bureau. LAFD CERT Teams were dispatched by the Los Angeles Fire Department to a total of (4) Incidents ranging from the Recent Brush Fire in Bell Canyon to a Confined Space Trench Rescue to provide Firefighter Hydration and Rehab. Additionally, CERT Teams were the first to report several incidents requiring an LAFD Response without delay.
